It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rosetta Brannon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend on Friday, July 21, 2023. Rosetta was born on a humble farm in Quemado, New Mexico, to Clarence and Annie Moore on January 18, 1935. She grew up in a close-knit family alongside her sisters, Marteldia, Sugie, Gaylene, Betsy, Carola, and her brother, Sonny.
After graduating from Clovis High School, Rosetta pursued her passion for music at Eastern New Mexico State University. Music became an integral part of her life, and she went on to direct handbell and children's choirs for many years, leaving an indelible mark on countless young lives.
Rosetta's marriage to her beloved husband, Dale, in 1959 was a testament to enduring love and devotion. Their bond was unbreakable, and they shared a life filled with cherished memories, laughter, and love. She was a loving mother to her three daughters, Roxanne, Rhonda, and Melinda, and her son, Kevin. Her four grandsons, Corey, Travis, Tyler, and Alec, and her great-grandchildren, Nathan, Ava, and Rowan, were a source of immense joy and pride to her.
Rosetta's passion for gardening was evident in her beautiful garden, where she lovingly nurtured and cultivated fruits and vegetables. She found solace and purpose in canning the fruits of her labor, especially her apricots and peaches, ensuring that her family was always provided for.
Her Christian faith played a significant role in Rosetta's life. She found spiritual fulfillment and guidance through her involvement with First Baptist Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and later with Eastern Hills Baptist Church.
Though her life was marked by moments of joy and fulfillment, Rosetta's journey was not without sorrow. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale, her father, mother, and her older sister, Marteldia.
As we bid farewell to Rosetta, we remember her as a kind, warm, and hospitable soul who always opened her heart and home to friends and family. Her loving nature and compassion made everyone feel welcomed and valued.
In this time of mourning, our hearts go out to her daughters, son, grandsons, great-grandchildren, siblings, and all those whose lives she touched. May her memory be a source of comfort and strength and may the legacy of love and music she leaves behind continue to inspire us all.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., FRENCH - Lomas Chapel. She will be buried at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
