Rosemarie Hurt

Rosemarie 'Rosie' or 'Rose' Hurt of Rio Rancho, NM and formerly from the DFW Texas area, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021. Rosemarie was born in Hammond, IN on February 2, 1958 to Jimmy and Nancy Hurt.

Rosemarie was named after the 1935 song by Nelson Eddy 'Rosemarie'. She retired from the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services in 2008 after 23 years of service. Rose enjoyed sewing and quilting, was a big TV buff (one of her favorite shows was Quantum Leap) and was an active member of the North Texas Orienteering Club. She especially enjoyed spending time with her two nephews Eli and Jacob Trujillo and would take them on all sorts of adventures.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Thompson Hurt; maternal grandparents, Julius and Frankie Thompson; and paternal grandparents, Alva and Sarah Hurt. Rose is survived by her father, Jimmy Hurt of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Brenda (Fidel) Trujillo of Espanola NM; brothers, Andrew Hurt and Thomas (Robyn) Hurt of Rio Rancho, NM; nephews, Jacob and Eli Trujillo of Espanola, NM; great-nephew, Trace Trujillo; step-nephews, Brendan Tuning and Dusten Tuning; special friends, Carol Miller and Joan Wolf; and numerous relatives.

There will be a private family service with a memorial at a later date.
