Rose Marie Velarde entered into eternal life to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. Rose was born on May 3, 1930 in Salida, CO to Josephina Archuleta and Candelario Roybal. Rose moved to New Mexico in 1950 and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. She was a devout Catholic and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Rose was loved by many. She had a gracious and giving heart. Rose will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephina Archuleta; her husband, Francis Velarde; three daughters, Lucille DeHerrera, Margaret DeHerrera, and Francine Velarde; one son, Robert DeHerrera; one sister, Alice Vigil; four brothers, Delfino Archuleta, Richard Archuleta, Bobby Archuleta, and Tony Archuleta; three granddaughters, Rosalie Herrera, Marie Martinez, and Tina DeHerrera; and one grandson, Dominic DeHerrera. Rose is survived by her daughters, Janet Sanchez, Adela Marta, Bo Smith, Roberta Smith, and Yolanda Yanquez; one son, Eloy DeHerrera; and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Please join the family to pay tribute to Rose Velarde. The Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 22, 2022, 7:00 p.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave NW. Mass will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, 9:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with reception to follow. Details will be announced at the service. A special thanks to Hospice of New Mexico and to Casa De Paz Assisted Living for the love and care they showed our mother.
