TAGTMEYER, ROSE KATHRYN COLE Rose Kathryn Cole Tagtmeyer, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, August 29, 2014, at the age of 89. She was preceded death by her beloved partner of 51 years, Eugenia Fegette, and by her mother, Anne Lasiter. She is survived by her sisters, Lily Moore and Louise Payne; cousin, Coleen Woody, and other relatives, and by dear friends Jamie Searcy, Alice Trabaudo, Beth Pinkerton, Mike and Mary Grizzard, Merrice Hoppe and Kay Thomas. Rose was the eldest of three sisters. She graduated from Duncan High School in Oklahoma in 1943. She graduated in 1948 from Nursing Training at Beth-El College in Colorado Springs, CO, and earned her B.A. in Nursing from University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL, in 1983. Rose came to Albuquerque in 1963 and worked as a pediatric nurse at Lovelace Clinic for 25 years. She was a deeply spiritual person and was an Ordained Minister in the Universal Church of the Holy Spirit. She was a world traveler, who visited Greece, England, Scotland, Mexico, Jamaica, Peru, Hawaii and Italy. Rose loved philosophy, reading, music, and conversations with friends. She fought fiercely for women's rights, enjoyed martinis and mimosas and loved animals. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014, at FRENCH - University from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center or Planned Parenthood of NM.
