Rose R. Padilla, 98, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, crossed over to eternal life with our Lord on Monday, May 12, 2014 at home of age related causes. Rose was born in Santa Fe, NM to Pedro and Rita Roybal (Roibal). She moved to Albuquerque after marrying the love of her life, Tony, with whom she is now joined in eternal life with our Lord. Not only was she a devoted, loving wife and mother, and an accomplished seamstress, she volunteered her skill to St. Anthony's Boys Home and was part of the Women's Craft Club at Queen of Heaven, creating items for the Church Bazaar. Her artistic creativity - limitless - among many were her bread dough creations. Her Northern New Mexico cooking skills were enjoyed by all visiting family (thanks, Mom, for the recipes)! Rose is survived by her daughter, Gloria P. Cameron of Portland, OR; brother, Abenicio Rodriquez of Morrilton, AR; sister, Anna Duran and husband, Waldo of Murrieta, CA; and many nephews and nieces. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 72 1/2 years, Tony N. Padilla; brothers, Max Roybal and Pedro Rodriquez; sisters, Sofia Manzanares, Isabel Mares, Elvera Weadock and Josefina Roybal. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 5pm-7pm at FRENCH-University. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 9:30 am, followed by Mass at 10:00 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont NE. Interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery, will follow. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to The Carmelite Monastery of Santa Fe, NM; Animal Humane Association of NM, 615 Virginia SE, 87108; or Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. "When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure - Rose shall evermore be her family's dearest treasure."
