Rosalie (Ferriera) Green

March 7, 1938 — February 16, 2023

We regretfully announce the passing of our mother, Rosalie Green of Albuquerque, NM on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Rosalie was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.

Rosalie was born in El Paso, Texas and would have turned 85 on March 7, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Anna Rosa Ferreira; and her brother, Charlie. Our father, O.A. (Andy) Green, passed in 1986. She is survived by three children, Marlyn Webb, Andrew Green (Cathy), and Matthew Green and Timber. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Robert Webb (Melissa), Patrick Webb, Tim Green, and Bonnie Rose Green. Also, by her loved niece and nephew, Gail and Roger.

Our mother was a brave woman who always wanted the best for her family, and we were blessed to have her. She loved Jesus. Rosalie was always the elementary room mother, the carnival captain, and she was very active in the Bernalillo County 4-H program. She helped her sons raise sheep where sheep shouldn't have been raised and hauled them to many a weekend rodeo. She never missed a Little League baseball game, YAFL game, 4-H activity, karate tourney, or choir and band concerts. She was always the mom that had the fresh chocolate chip cookies baking when we got home from school. In the early 80s, Rosalie was the Office Manager at UNMMH Center in the Billing & Insurance Department. She also owned a mobile home park in the NW valley. Mom spent many summers at her cabin in Pecos, from Mother's Day until the snow got too deep. The grandkids had great adventures with her hunting fossils and exploring. She said it was the closest thing to heaven she could imagine. She was an expert at catching Rainbow Trout and knew the best spots to find them all through the Pecos Canyon. If you wanted to catch trout, she knew where to take you. She could out fish just about anyone, man or woman, with her long fishing pole, a worm, and a salmon egg. Rosalie could grow a prize-winning garden or any kind of flower in a spot of bare dirt. Her yard looked like a jungle full of blooms from spring through fall. She had a collection of hummingbird feeders and giant spinning decorations to make sure there was color all year long. A few days before she passed, she told us all, "They made me happy!"

Our family would like to say a thank you that words can never express to Maria and her family, Roberto, Amy, Juan, and Chelsea, to the Lovato Family, and to Lucille and Acapito in Pecos. Thank you, Diana, for becoming her friend and confidant, and for taking such good care of her.

Special thank you to Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice unit. You ensured our mom's final days were comforting and her passing was peaceful. We won't forget the way you treated her and our family.

We love you Mom and know you are with Dad in that special spot he has been saving for you.

Services are being planned and will be updated on the FRENCH website.
