With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roni Marie Harness, who left us on August 16, 2024, in Albuquerque, NM. Born on April 12, 1955, in Westgate, Los Angeles, CA, Roni lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
Roni was the beloved daughter of Margaret Paradiso. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Willard Clark; her brother, Jeffrey Gardner; her sister, Jerry Kendall; and her mother, Margaret Paradiso. Despite these profound losses, Roni remained a pillar of strength and resilience for her family and friends.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Willy Harness, with whom she shared many wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful life starting from their marriage on July 17th, 1975, in Albuquerque, NM. Their union blessed them with a son, Brian Harness, who brought immense joy and happiness into their lives. Brian, along with his wife, Dianna Harness, and their children, Bradley Harness and Kyra Violet Harness, were the pride and joy of Roni's life. Roni also leaves behind her cherished pet turtle, Snapper, who brought her much comfort and companionship.
Roni's educational journey began at Del Norte High School, from which she graduated in 1973. She was a hard worker, known for her dedication and professionalism. She spent many years as a public-school teacher and an office manager before finishing her esteemed career as a Branch Manager for Edward Jones Investments. Roni's exceptional skills and her ability to connect with a diverse clientele garnered her numerous awards and accolades.
Beyond her professional life, Roni was deeply involved in her community. She served as the President of the Albuquerque Educators Association, where her leadership and commitment to education were highly regarded.
Roni was a skilled and talented quilter and seamstress, known for her creativity and resourcefulness. She often sewed her own work outfits, proudly stating, "I can make that for half the cost!" Her hobbies brought her much joy and fulfillment, and her creations were admired by many.
A loving and caring individual, Roni always put others ahead of herself. Her sense of humor was unmatched, bringing laughter and joy to those around her. Her intelligence and wit were evident in all aspects of her life, both personal and professional. Roni's legacy of kindness, love, and laughter will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her.
The funeral service for Roni Marie Harness will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH - University. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating her remarkable life and to share memories of the incredible woman she was.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice in Roni's honor, reflecting her spirit of generosity and care for others.
