Ronald E. Salazar

Ronald E. Salazar, 86, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017. He was known for his quick wit, strong opinions, dedication to his family, and trust in God. Ron was a small business owner who took pride in the quality of his service and always thought of his employees and customers as friends; and many, like family. He loved cooking, building, wood carving, and most of all gardening. Ron was married to his one and only love, Gloria, for 63 years.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; and his three daughters, Debbie Salazar, Lorraine Chavez and Stephanie Salazar. He was preceded in death by his only son, Ernie Salazar. Ron was a loving grandfather to Jesse Creel, Joseph Ernest Creel, John Creel, Gabrielle Rivera, Jake Chavez, Sarah Chavez, Isaiah Gutierrez, and Matthew Gutierrez. He had three great-grandchildren, Kristynn Renee Chavez, Ryan Chavez, and Gloria Creel.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Ron on Friday, January 12, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 7 Church Loop, in Tome, NM 87060. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 2:15 p.m.
