Our amazing son, Ronnie Dale Salandre, died on July 1, 2021.
Ronnie is survived by his Dad, Chris; his mom, Kari; and his big brother, Michael Salandre. Michael was the best brother, showing Ronnie how to hunt lizards, and later, how to ride a dirt bike. Ronnie loved to spend time with his Papa and namesake, Ronnie Murphy. Ronnie had beautiful aunts that loved him to the moon including Kelly Murphy, who totally "got" Ronnie. Kelly loved how Ronnie would climb the trees after church. She gave Ronnie three cousins named David Scott, Mark Scott and Ryan Scott. David is married to Marla, and they have a beautiful daughter named Cora, who rode bikes with Ronnie, Mark Scott gave Ronnie two more cousins named Caleb and Brielle. Mark got Ronnie interested in creating interesting aquariums and taking care of fish. Ryan Scott is married to Sage Wilmot. Ryan and Sage love Ronnie and understand his need to move all of the time. His Aunt Vicki Atwood, who lives in Oregon, loved to tease a smile out of my shy son. Vicki is married to Don Atwood, and together they gave Ronnie four cousins, Hannah Atwood, Kaitlin Atwood, Mason Atwood and Miles Atwood. Ronnie's Aunt Nita loved to spoil Ronnie, and bought him whatever he wanted for Christmas and birthdays. Nita gave Ronnie another cousin named Jared Murphy, who is married to Tayler Collins. Tayler has remarked that at family gatherings, she just "watches Ronnie" because he is always up to something, and entertaining to watch. Ronnie also left his Uncle Mike Salandre, who spent countless hours playing "World of Tanks" with him. Mike gave Ronnie his cousins Lyra Salandre and her brother Aurie Salandre, who he raced dirt bikes with. Ronnie loved his Aunt Heidi and Uncle Chris, who indulged him in whatever he wanted to do.
Ronnie loved his motorcycle family at Gasit Racing. Ronnie loved to keep aquarium fish, tend to plants, go camping in Colorado, hang out with his friends, and race dirt bikes.
Ronnie loved being outside and was incredibly active, whether riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, or doing back flips. Ronnie loved climbing trees and getting on the roof of our house to look at the sunset. He was so quiet, an introvert in fact, but made a huge impact on the people he interacted with.
Our family will miss Ronnie forever. We loved him immensely for 14 years, but it was not enough.
Ronnie is now resting in the arms of God.
