Ron Davis

Ronald Eugene Davis passed away Sunday, December 3, 2021.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Wells; his stepdaughter, Kristin Tomany; and step grandson, Kellan Tomany.  He was predeceased by his parents, Alice Evelyn and John Scott Davis; and his sister, Cynthia (Candy) Ellison.

Born in Whittier, CA, Ron moved to New Mexico in his 30s because he “got tired of standing in line” in California.  He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration at the College of Santa Fe and went on to become a computer programmer, when the field was still young.  Ron met Peggy at a church singles group.  In 1983, they married and made a life together for 38 years.

Ron was fascinated by space exploration.  He read books avidly - especially science fiction.  In his younger years, he climbed the Sandias and taught rock-climbing classes.  Ron put his values into action.  He drove a Prius and put solar panels on three houses, to slightly impede global warming.  He regularly contributed to women candidates.  Ron nurtured two giant redwoods now thriving in the Albuquerque Zoological Park and in Santa Fe.
