Roger Paul Milbert, 79, born in Dyersville, Iowa on September 3, 1940 passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2020 after being diagnosed 17 years ago of mantle cell lymphoma.
He is remembered by his best friend and wife of 55 years, Mary Todd Milbert of Albuquerque and their children, Todd (Helene), Tracy and Kristen (Finlay) and blessed with three granddaughters, Macy, Avery and Lily. Roger lived a full life, residing in numerous states with his family but mostly calling Dallas and Albuquerque home.
Roger proudly served in the Air Force where he met many life-long friends who shared years building unforgettable memories. Roger was never one to sit still and lived life to the fullest: whether quick overnight trips to a nearby cabin or lodge or a cross-country trip to see his children, he and Mary shared continuous adventures. He enjoyed golfing with friends, spending time outdoors and watching every manner of sports.
Treasuring his roots in Iowa, he will be buried in the cemetery adjacent to his childhood farm home. That same cemetery was the beginning of Roger and Mary’s life together. That is where he proposed to Mary 56 years ago. Thankful that God and Saint Jude both heard Mary say “YES!”.
“Thank you, Roger, for your love and my life and our family”
Forever, Mary
