LOOMIS, ROGER Roger Loomis, age 82, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was born and raised in Albuquerque where he graduated from Albuquerque High School. Roger was very proud of his time on the A.H.S. Varsity Wrestling Team. Roger was preceded in death by his parents: Grant and Margaret Loomis; three brothers Raymond Loomis, Richard Loomis and Roscoe Loomis. He is survived by his wife, Maria L. Loomis; two brothers Russell and Ralph Loomis; sister Genevieve Lemon; son; Allen Loomis; two daughters Judy Baxter and Carol McLaughlin; two step-daughters Rosella Brito and Elizabeth Garley; step-son Antonio Brito and wife, Jeanette; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Roger served proudly in the United States Marine Corps in Korea and retired from the United States Air Force where he served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the Jerry Murphy Marine Corps League Detachment #381, a life member of the VFW #401 and the American Legion Post #13. He enjoyed making floats to represent these organizations in local parades. Roger enjoyed playing senior softball for many years. A service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at French -University. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 pm. Friends may visit one hour before the service. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Roger's name to Princeton Place, 500 Louisiana NE 87108.
