Rodney George Kear, age 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather, papo, and train conductor at the Albuquerque Zoo, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughters, Annette, Rochelle, Gina and Stacie; grandchildren, Jessica, Lauren, Keegan, Gavin, Griffin, Haley, Nicole, Hanna and Noah; brothers, Tom, Paul and Frank; and numerous other relatives and friends. Rod was preceded in death by his siblings, Leroy, Thelma, Pauline, and Richard.

He was born in 1941 in Clayton, NM and graduated from Clayton High School. Rod then went into the United States Navy where he proudly served. He had many jobs throughout his life but the most rewarding job was his last one as a conductor of the train at the Albuquerque Zoo. Rod will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Private Services were held at FRENCH with interment at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rod's name to the New Mexico Cancer Center, 4901 Lang Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
