Robin Lea Irwin

d. March 14, 2022

Robin Lea Irwin, age 52, passed away Monday March 14, 2022, in Albuquerque after a short illness.

She was born to Skip & Linda Alexander, along with her twin sister, Renee, August 7, 1969 in Denver, Co. Robin's family moved to Golden, CO shortly after the twins arrived. During the start of her career in Denver, she met her future husband, Brian, at work. They were married in March of 1992, they moved to Albuquerque, NM in November that year.

Robin was most proud of her children and the adults they have become. Robin found her true passion for the water well industry and growing her knowledge while working at Murray Drilling, where she was the Operations Manager for 28 years. Some of her most enjoyable years there were when she and Brian worked together again.

Robin is survived by her husband of 30 years, Brian; and two adult children, Emily, Andy and his son Jackson of Albuquerque; parents, Skip and Linda Alexander of Golden, CO; brother, Carl and wife Suzanne Martin of Westminster, CO; sister, Renee Alexander-Cordova and husband Dave of Arvada, CO; nephews, Zachary, Loren, Louis; and niece, Taylor.

Her family was what gave her the most joy, proud of both her children, and she loved her grandson, Jackson, so much. During years past jobs included swim team mom, soccer mom, baseball and softball mom, all were jobs she cherished.  Robin had a recent big concern, her not being able to see the birth of her second grandchild, due in July.  Robin's hobbies included photography, travel, birdwatching and cooking.

Robin was always the happiest person in the room.

Robin's passion was the Water Well Industry, safe drinking water is a basic need of life, yet so many don't have access to this. In her 20 plus years with the New Mexico Ground Water Association as their Secretary/Treasurer, she helped guide the association into being financially sound, offering continuing education to meet the membership's needs, and administration of a scholarship program and fundraising. Working with the NMGWA to impact state well regulations and legislation in Santa Fe were high priorities also. Robin also enjoyed working on the Water Systems Council & Water Well Trust boards, these are both national organizations. She traveled for many years to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., advocating for the industry she loved also at the federal level.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, April 14, 2022, 9:30 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider donating to the Robin Irwin Sunshine Fund.
