It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we share that Robin Haase Billmaier, of Albuquerque, NM passed away unexpectedly in her home, on Sunday, June 19, 2022. Robin was born November 29, 1965, to Tex and Gretchen Haase along with her twin brother, Don in Portales, NM. After graduating from Portales High school in 1984, Robin pursued an education at Eastern New Mexico University where she received her BS in Speech Language Pathology, and later earned a MS in Speech Language Pathology from New Mexico State University.
Robin was a passionate speech pathologist and was recognized early on in her career by the New Mexico board of Speech and Language Pathology for her significant achievements in 2002. She resided, and worked in Albuquerque NM for over 20 years, and was the founder of West Side Speech Academy in Northwest Albuquerque, that successfully serves its large community of many.
Robin had an artistic flair, was exceptionally creative, and loved to draw. She had a beautiful voice and sang with several country and bluegrass bands. Her vocal talent gave her the opportunity to record professionally in Nashville. She loved many things including gardening, ocean cruises, kitties, shopping on Amazon, travel, Hawaii, elephants, stuffed animals, and beating casinos at their own game; she was uniquely gifted at roulette and was frequently a jackpot winner.
Robin had a generous and sentimental heart, loved children, and touched thousands with her work, her infectious smile, generosity, and kindness.
She was noted for her lasting, loving, and enduring lifelong relationships, her outreach to those in need and random acts of kindness. She was the lynchpin of the family, was notably sentimental, loved deeply, and openly.
Robin was married to her soulmate, the love of her life, her best friend and “partner in crime”, Michael E. Billmaier. They met in 1986 and from that moment on, were inseparable until her death. They tumbled through life’s ups and downs always together, building a home, a life, a business and a community of love and friendship. These two shared so much including a vast collage of experiences with, and connections to, many families and friends. Their life together was rich and filled with love.
Robin is survived by her husband, Michael E. Billmaier; her siblings, Don Haase, Scooter Haase, Shelby Cross and Tana Garnett, their spouses, children, grandchildren, and her most adorable kitty Riley.
“Safe Trip” Robin Hopper. We love you.
