Roberto U. Castillo

Roberto U. Castillo, 84, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, February 16, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife, Romaine Hickerson Castillo. He is survived by his children, Robert Castillo and wife, Rose of Albuquerque, Dana Thorndahl and husband, Michael Quattlebaum of Prior Lake, MN, and Reed Thorndahl and wife, Rossana of Olney, MD; and grandchildren, Christian Quattlebaum, Loana Thorndahl and Mia Thorndahl. Roberto served in the U.S. Marine Corps and held an MBA from the University of Miami. He had a long and distinguished career as an international business manager, including senior positions with US corporations in Ecuador, Venezuela, Columbia and Brazil, and was Director of the International Trade Division of the New Mexico Economic Development Department before retiring. Roberto was an active member of the Meadow Muffins hiking group, sharing in many of their outings and adventures.
