Robert J. Martinez

Loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and proud Marine veteran passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018.

The patriarch and foundation of our family is home at last with God and his beloved wife, Berlinda.  He began his life in Taos, New Mexico on June 8, 1937. A life-long resident of Albuquerque, his passion in life was his family and love of sports and farming. He is preceded in death by his wife, Berlinda Martinez; his beloved grandson, Christopher Torres; his parents, Fred and Isabelle Martinez; and his brother, Mario Martinez. His memory lives on through his three children, Renetta Torres and her husband, Stephen Torres, Robert J. Martinez, Jr. and his wife, Anne Marie Martinez and Melissa Martinez; two sisters, and one brother, Virginia Martinez, Frances Baca and Amos Martinez.  Additionally, seven grandchildren, Daniel Torres and wife, Nicole Moreland-Torres, Matthew Torres and wife, Dennica Torres, Jenifer Martinez, Jaclyn Martinez, Danielle Martinez, Miranda Martinez, and Michael Martinez; five great-grandchildren, Darion Faulkner, Ciana Faulkner, Enmarae Torres, Elizabeth Torres, and Amara Torres.

A Mass celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018, 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish, 2621 Vermont NE. He will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery with his beloved wife, Berlinda.

A reception following the internment will be at Gardunos located at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town.
