Robert "Bob" Vernon Mai

Robert (Bob) Vernon Mai was born October 20, 1929 in Casper, Wyoming to John and Elizabeth Mai. He graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1947. Bob married Mary L. Mudrock on April 21, 1951 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Later, they moved to Torrington, Wyoming where he worked for a bakery but when it burned down, he and Mary moved back to Cheyenne where Bob worked at a Texaco service station until they moved to Albuquerque, NM in April 1961. Bob and his father ran a Diamond Shamrock service station for 12 years, then he went to work for the State of New Mexico highway Dept. till he retired in 1992. Bob, loved to help others, he was a caring and giving person. He was a hard worker and was very good at his craft of working on automobiles. He continued to help work on automobiles even after retiring.

He fell asleep in death on July 19, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM. He is pre-deceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth Mai; sister, Lois Brustad; and son, Richard Mai. He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Roger D. Mai and wife, Malissia; daughter, Lynda S. Mai; and son, Robert (Bobby) J. and wife, Katherine Mai. He had many grandchildren, Bonnie Delgado, Angela Kemp, Richard Kilgore, Desiree Casteel, Jesse Kilgore, AJ Mai, Danielle Mai, Preston Mai, Jeffery Gonzalez, Luke Mai, and Mark Mai. He also had fourteen great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, August 5th, 2017, 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 8904 Menaul NE.
