Harris, Roberta "Robbie" Joanne May 18, 1953 - June 28, 2014 On the afternoon of Saturday, June 28, 2014, Roberta passed away at her home in Rio Rancho, after an eight year fight with cancer. Roberta was surrounded by her family and was peaceful and at rest during her final moments with us. She was 61 years old. Roberta was an angel in human form. Every person she had contact with could feel the unequivocal warmth and desire to please the human spirit and praise life. Roberta lived her life with love, compassion, and spunk; a true inspiration to family and friends alike. Her ability to make the best out of the worst situations was truly an unfathomable feat and something all should emulate. Roberta's fight with cancer for over eight years, through the pain and the suffering, never slowed down who she really was: a Grandmother, Mother, Wife, Friend, and Inspiration to all. Roberta had many favorites in her life, but none as strong as her love for the ocean and sand mixing between her toes. The shine in her spirit was always visible, but the extra sparkle in her eyes when looking across the vast Pacific Ocean was magical. It truly lifted her to a place of an almost heavenly surrounding. Roberta was graced with these pleasures just prior to her passing, as water and sand from the Pacific Ocean made it to her bedroom so she could feel the magic and we could see that sparkle in her one last time. When it comes to family, it would be a difficult challenge to match the devotion and love that poured from Roberta's soul each and every day. She is survived by her husband, Dan Robertson; daughters, Kari Tatum, Leigh Ann Andrews, and Kathryn Wakefield; 13 grandchildren; and her two sisters, Shari Hulshof and Anita Moen. Roberta was able to fill each of their hearts, each and every moment of their lives, whether living in the same house or thousands of miles away. Her love never faltered and never swayed away from its purest form. Through the good times and those questionable moments, Roberta held strong and kept the family filled with love and joy, like only she could. If you weren't smiling before you spoke to her, you were surely laughing and feeling her love during the conversation and long after you left. Roberta's life is best summed up by a simple phrase: "They that love beyond the world cannot be separated by it. Death cannot kill what never dies." We love you Roberta. Roberta's final wishes were not to have flowers or other gifts delivered to her home or family. Instead, please use those funds to donate to the American Cancer Society in her name. A Memorial Ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Celebration Baptist Church, 5620 Laredo Rd, Rio Rancho, NM.
