Robert Louis Saviteer died peacefully at home on February 13th, 2025. Born on April 20, 1947, in New Haven, Connecticut, Bob was a loving husband, father, step-father and grandfather, and a beloved friend to many.
After graduating from Roswell Military School, in Roswell New Mexico, Bob went on to receive his BA in English, minoring in Art, at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He met his future wife, Delora in Colorado, and the two moved to New Mexico where they married. After working for many years in different fields, including restaurant management and retail sales, Bob embarked on a new career by studying to be a nurse at CNM. After graduating he worked as an LPN at Lovelace hospital, as well as at a methadone clinic and a memory care facility in Rio Rancho.
When he retired, Bob continued to work as a collector of art and especially of music. His knowledge and love of music enriched his life as well as the lives of his family and friends. For two years before the pandemic, he brought joy to many as part of Flip Side DJ Services, a partnership with his dear friend, Ted Podlesny. The pair performed as DJs at events at senior centers and retirement communities.
Bob leaves behind his beloved wife of 37 years, Delora Saviteer; his daughter, Elizabeth Saviteer and her husband, William Walters of Spokane, Washington; stepson, John and his wife,Michelle McGrath; stepdaughter Teri McGrath and her husband, Terry Gresham, and grandson, Sean McGrath. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Van Der Meer and his father George Saviteer.
A small celebration of life will be held at a date and place to be announced. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
