Robert Charles Ponto age 86, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away in the early morning hours on December 17, 2023, after complications from surgery.
Robert was born in Chicago, IL to Oscar Ponto and Gemma Morganti. As a young boy, the Ponto family moved to Gallup, NM, where Robert spent the majority of his childhood, before moving to Albuquerque to attend college at the University of New Mexico. Robert graduated with a degree in Architecture and spent the next 60+ years of his life designing and overseeing the construction of residential and commercial properties buildings all across Albuquerque and the surrounding areas.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Roberta Cole Ponto. Robert is survived by his brother and sister, Edward Ponto and Claudette Mayer; his two children, Lisa Eastburg and Michael DuBoise; and four grandchildren, Bradley Bowling, Natalie Nelson, Brooke Baker, and Olivia DuBoise.
In his spare time, Robert enjoyed many hobbies, including playing the guitar and singing, painting scenic landscapes of New Mexico with watercolors, socializing with friends over a cocktail, and spending time with his trusted dog, Franco.
