Robert Sanborn Pinkham Jr, 97, passed away peacefully on April 19th, 2025, reuniting with the love of his life, Connie, who preceded him in death five years ago. Born and raised in Boston, Bob met Connie on a ski hill, and together they built a beautiful life in Albuquerque, where they spent their seven decades of marriage.
Bob was a mechanical engineer/manager at Sandia National Laboratories, known for his out-of-the-box thinking, and dedication. Outside of work, he was a man of adventure, a devoted skier who took his family of five on countless trips to Taos, an avid hot air balloonist who found joy in the skies, and a windsurfing enthusiast who spent many breezy afternoons on Cochiti Lake.
Preceded by the death of his beloved daughter Jeannie, Bob is survived by his two surviving children, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his adventurous heart, sense of humor, and love for his family, including the many caregivers and friends from the Woodmark, who he often referred to as his other family. His legacy lives on in every sunrise over the mountains and every balloon rising in the New Mexico sky.
In lieu of flowers, if anyone wishes, please donate to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson Research Foundation, Saranam, or Camp Enchantment.
