Robert V. Peet

PEET, ROBERT V. On Tuesday July 9, 2013, Robert V. Peet began a new journey with the Lord after a two year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Rebecca, and two sons, David and Arthur; his brother, Roger; nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Bob was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 18, 1929. He grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, and upon graduation from High School served his country for two years in the Navy. After an honorable discharge he returned to Fargo and attended North Dakota State University, including service as vice president of Alpha Tau Omega and president of Tau Beta Pi. He graduated in 1952 with a degree in electrical engineering. Upon graduation, he worked at Sandia Labs for over forty years. He married Jean Campbell in December of 1954 at Central Methodist Church in Albuquerque. Robert enjoyed skiing with family and friends all over the southwest. Nearing retirement, Bob became an avid cyclist, biking with his wife Jean and friends all over the United States, parts of Europe, and New Zealand. His 50th wedding anniversary with Jean was celebrated cycling from Venice to Florence Italy. It was the cancer which forced him to dismount his bicycle for the last time. Services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte, NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87122. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE.
