Mr. Robert Wilson Palmer, age 72, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Mrs. Betty P. Elias, and Mrs. Euretha P. Hardy; four brothers, George (Ellen), Johnny (Darlene), Sanford (Cassie), and Curtis; two aunts, Mrs. Elise P. Wolfe (Roy) and Mrs. Gwendolyn B. Palmer; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Judy Palmer; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Bob was born in 1942 in Sparta, Hancock County, GA to the late Loran and Bertha Inez Tilley Palmer. Bob, as he is known to the family, was the third born of eight siblings, and was preceded in death by his brother, Michael. Following his graduation from the historical Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, GA in 1960, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served a tour as a firefighter and was separated under honorable conditions with disability. He had overseas duty in France. His enchantment with the southwestern region of the United States brought him to Arizona then to New Mexico for more than forty years of his life. In these areas he would hunt, fish, explore the vast expanses, and get to know the native people. He was a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
