Robert Ramon Olona
Robert Ramon Olona, 94, born in Santa Rosa, NM and died February 3, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM.
He is survived by his three children, Robert M. Olona, Mary Kathleen Olona and Eileen Poirier and husband. Thomas; grandchildren, Bryan Price Phd and wife, Claire, Rob Locklin, Francine Locklin, Miranda Poirier and Marisa Poirier; and many other family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Anna Mae; and his daughter, Elizabeth Olona Locklin.
Mr. Olona proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He experienced WW II at Normandy and also the Korean War. The Navy was his second love. Mr. and Mrs. Olona lived and raised his children in Southern California for 25 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Pius V Catholic Church in California. Robert was a diligent hard working individual, very meticulous in what he would do. He would read two newspapers and his Bible daily.
Private Services have been held with burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 24, 2017, 12:00 p.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road NE. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors, www. woundedwarriorproject.org in his name.
