Robert Nilchee, born on October 4, 1951, passed away at the age of 64 on Monday, November 30, 2015. A son of the late Warren, Sr., and Amelia Nilchee of Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by six sisters and one brother; Erma Marbut, Mary Nilchee, Thelma Nilchee, and Melissa Woodcock, all of Albuquerque, Betty DuBois of Elmer, New Jersey, Ruth Spencer of Pendleton, OR, and Warren Nilchee, Jr., of Seattle, WA. Robert left several nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico in Architecture in 1976. He took graduate courses at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. His professional career as an architect designer took him to live and work in New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, Wisconsin, Connecticut, and upper state New York. Robert was an architect designer who inspired and presented his Native Heritage and culture in his design. He saw beauty in nature, balance, harmony, and shadows and used it in his designs. He worked for Marshall Erdman & Associates, Inc. located in Connecticut, a company considered as an expert in building medical facilities, prior to returning to Albuquerque, NM for rest and health issues in 2009. He held the Lead Project Designer for medical projects position and during his career worked on other building types such as condominiums, auto dealerships, speculative garden offices, warehouses and ski facility. A Visitation will be held on Monday, December 7 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University, 1111 University Blvd. NE. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 8 at 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University.
