Robert B. Miller

Robert Blum Miller, 61, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died peacefully at home on Monday April 21, 2014. Bob was a devoted son and brother and a loving husband and father. He was a tireless worker and will be missed by loving family friends and colleagues. He was born to the late Wallace and Dorothy Miller in St Paul Minnesota on September 30, 1952. He grew up in Columbus and Cleveland Ohio. He graduated from Charles F Brush High School in 1970 and he received an MBA from Cleveland State University in 1989. He married Nancy McCoy in 1982 in Cleveland, Ohio and they moved from Cleveland to Albuquerque in 1995. Bob was a financial manager for ABQ Health Partners until he retired in December 2013. He treasured his co-workers. He started his career as a Respiratory Therapist and soon became interested in the business aspect of health care. He worked in management for Lifecare and Horizon Healthcare before starting Integrity Clinical Systems, a medical supply business. He was a member of Monte Vista Christian Church and a lifelong Disciple of Christ. He was active as Youth Sponsor, Chair of the Youth Committee and was past moderator of the Board. He loved to fix and drive vintage cars and remodel old houses. He was passionate about service to others and was a regular volunteer at the soup kitchen at Restorations Ministry. He found his greatest satisfaction volunteering at Albuquerque Animal Humane where he spent many hours walking and caring for dogs who were hoping to be adopted. He is loved and missed by his wife Nancy and sons Wallace and Sampson, sisters Karen, Stephanie and husband Donald, brother Wallace and wife Cynthia, in-laws Tim and Mary Ellen and Bill and Diane and nieces and nephews Georgia and her children Nichelle, Nahvea and Niko, Donald, Jonathan, Jennifer and Merideth, Megan, Joseph, Veronica, Eugene and Justine. He was brave in his fight against cancer. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Animal Humane, CaringBridge, Stand Up to Cancer, Gentiva Hospice and The Dream Foundation. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Monte Vista Christian Church located at 3501 Campus Blvd NE, ABQ, NM 87106.
