MARTINEZ, ROBERT J. "BOBBY"
Age 57, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 with his family by his side, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Robert is survived by his children, Denise Erickson and her husband, Matt, Lorraine Baca and husband, Ronnie, and Robert Martinez; and grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Zach, Alyssa, Riley and Mason. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Frances Martinez; aunt, Anna Martinez; and sister, Katherine Martinez. He was a warm, caring person that got along with everyone he came into contact with. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend who will be missed more than words can say. Robert was employed by Albuquerque Publishing Company for 9 years, where he loved his job and co-workers. He kept a positive attitude no matter how hard his struggle and fight was. Friends may visit Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9504 4th St. NW, on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m., with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Robert will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church. Pallbearers will be Henry Whiting, Joe Sanchez, Robert Martinez, Matthew Erickson, Ronnie Baca and Arthur Sandoval. Honorary Pallbearers are Freddy Sandoval, Tyler Erickson and Zachary Erickson. Robert's family would like to thank Presbyterian Hospice for their compassionate care, and the many friends and family who visited him on a regular basis. He knew he was loved.
