Robert Lujan

Robert Jeffrey (Jeff) Lujan, age 61, passed away on January 16, 2024. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Congressman/Secretary of the Interior Manuel Lujan, Jr. and Jeanine (Couchman) Lujan, brothers Thomas Manuel Lujan and James Manuel (Jay) Lujan, sisters Paula Jean Lujan, Paula Rae Lujan and Dr. Barbara Lujan. Jeff is survived by his sister Terra (Jeffrey) Everett, brother Noah Lujan, uncles Terry (Rosina) Couchman, Edward (Virginia) Lujan, and George Lujan, aunt Zeniada (Reyes) Padilla as well as nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephew.

Jeff was born at the old St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe, NM on May 8, 1962. In 1966, the family moved to Albuquerque, NM where he attended Mark Twain Elementary School and Hayes Jr. High. He moved to Washington, D. C. with the family in 1969 where he finished high school.

Jeff loved vacationing with his family in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where he para sailed and rode off road vehicles with his sister Barbara. Jeff also spent time with his dad fishing and bird hunting. Jeff lived life on his own terms and was known for his huge heart. He was always ready to help anyone in need.

Jeff last resided in Los Lunas, NM on a semi-rural property with his pit bull dog Holly. He gardened and enjoyed grilling steaks for his family and friends.

Visitation will be at FRENCH-Wyoming on on February 6, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A mass will take place on February 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM.

Pallbearers will be Terry Couchman, Noah Lujan, Augie Mares, Rob Tapia, Rodney Segura and Mark Chavez.
