Robert (Bob) Kerschen was called to heaven on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, with his family at his bedside. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Martha and grandson, Kyle.
Bob was born to John and Mary Kerschen in Fowler, Kansas in 1927. He was the youngest of eleven children. He graduated from Arriba High School (Colorado) in 1945. He farmed in Colorado and then Texas, and married Martha Jeski in Hereford, TX in 1948. They moved to a farm near Stanley, NM in 1953. Martha contracted polio in 1955, which led to a move to Albuquerque in 1957. He held various jobs in a 30-year career at EG&G. With a farmer's background and an innate understanding of how things work, his talents spanned the creation of fine furniture to home construction; he could fix anything.
Bob was deeply devoted to his family and his God. You could find him building a little league field, working on a soap box derby, attending a piano recital, or ushering at church. Although working two jobs most of his life, Bob found patience to pour out his love and knowledge to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who benefited immensely. Bob is survived by his sister, Margie; and his four children, a daughter, Rosemary and Mike Dunivan of Albuquerque; sons, Ed of Tucson, Arizona, Tom and Diane of Albuquerque, and Bill and Kim of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
