Robert Earl Hooker, Jr., age 90, loving, supportive husband and father, born on July 16, 1930, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Known to most as Bob, he served one-year active duty in the Army and seven years in the National Guard. He attended college in Troy, NY and after graduating he and his family relocated to Albuquerque, NM where he was offered a position at Sandia National Laboratories. After his work at Sandia, he obtained work at Los Alamos National Laboratories where he stayed until he retired in 1995.
In Bob's younger years, his passion being that of golf, and later years playing tennis and singing karaoke. He was married to his loving wife Dot for 66 years and shared a life of unending love. In their retirement, they spent summers in Albuquerque and winters in Mesa, AZ. There they played tennis and Bob sang at numerous karaoke gatherings. He was well known for his voice as he sounded like Willie Nelson. Thus, given the nickname "Willie Bob" by his many friends and supporters.
Bob's wife Dot passed on February 27, 2021. He is survived by his son, Joseph Hooker; brother, Richard Hooker; nieces, Pamela Armstrong and Athena Theodosis.
He will be missed by his family and many cherished friends, ever loved never forgotten. In his honor, please send any contributions to the American Cancer Society.
