Robert Eugene Higgins

Robert E. Higgins, age 82, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017, in Albuquerque, NM where he lived with his son and daughter-in-law. He was born on August 7, 1935 in Hereford, TX where he was raised and graduated high school. Robert married his wife, Jeanette, on June 9, 1956 and they were married for 60 years. “Bullitt Bob”, as he was known by his co-workers, was a long time employee of General Telephone and Electronics and retired on November 6, 1991 in Hobbs, NM after 35 years of service.



Survivors include his daughter, Berverly Dian Snodgrass of Hobbs, NM; and two sons, Steven Marshall Higgins of Lubbock, TX, and Stanley Wade Higgins of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by two sisters, Luella Thomas of Hereford, TX, and Alberta Cantrell of Bensing, AZ; one brother, Ted Higgins, of Hereford, TX; and 5 grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanette Higgins, on November 14, 2016; by his parents, Fred and Catherine Higgins; three brothers, Charles, John, and Fred Higgins; and two sisters, Billie Harris and Mattie Thomas.



A Memorial Service in honor and Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel on Lake Ridge Chapel, located at 6025 82nd Street in Lubbock, TX.
