Age 87, a long time resident of Albuquerque NM, formally of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home, Thursday, November 14, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was followed in death by his wife Theresa M. Greenwell on February 25, 2014. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn S. Lancaster of Seattle, WA; his parents Robert Greenwell and Anna Christine Weikel Greenwell of Owensboro, Kentucky; a brother, William (passed away at 6 months old) a sister, Margaret Hardesty of Owensboro, Kentucky. He is survived by his children, Michael J. Greenwell; Catherine A. Woody; Janet M. Brown; Laurie J. Forbes and husband Bernie. Grandchildren: Heather Merendon; Gregory S. Greenwell; Rochelle N. Blondin; Suzanne L. Woody; David Lancaster Jr.; Marie S. Greenwell; Justin R. Blunt and Christine R. Forbes; nine great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Whitaker of Ramsey, Indiana; brother: Edward Greenwell and wife, Gert of Melbourne, Florida; sister, Joan Scheessele (pronounced Joann) and husband Kenneth, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Greenwell enjoyed playing cards with his family, puzzles, reading and he especially loved going outside to enjoy looking at the blue sky, watering his trees and bushes, watching and hearing the birds. He loved to laugh and hear a good joke. He loved reading the comics in the newspaper and got quite a chuckle from them as well. He touched countless lives with his kindness and sense of humor and was loved and respected by his friends and family. He was a member of the Shrine of Saint Bernadette Catholic Church and enjoyed having coffee and donuts with the many friends he made at the church.
