Robert Lincoln Gallegos passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the age of 32. He was born in Albuquerque on November 22, 1989, to Robert and Melody Gallegos. He graduated from St. Pius X High School in 2008.
Robert was loving, intelligent, interesting, charming, caring, handy, generous, and had a great
sense of humor. He was obsessed with fishing, he loved the outdoors, and he enjoyed traveling and exploring the world with the people he loved. He dreamed of having a cabin with his family in the mountains, where he would work as a fly-fishing guide and spend his days on the river. He was an avid watcher of movies and reader of books, with favorites including Harry Potter, Marvel, The Princess Bride, the works of Neil Gaiman, and the works of Stephen King. He enjoyed cooking and often experimented with new recipes. He specialized in tacos, but also made a mean French Onion Soup. His other passions included the Dallas Cowboys, camping, standing outside in the midst of thunderstorms, making pickles, eating jerky, and playing Pokémon Go.
Robert's whole world revolved around his family, especially the love of his life and long-term partner, Frances, and their son, Oliver. He would (and did) follow Frances anywhere in the world and it was evident to everyone around them how much he loved her. He delighted in being a dad to Oliver and he taught him how to fish, how to ride a bike, and how to shoot a basketball. He also found great joy in the rest of his family, including his parents, sisters, and a large network of "in-laws". Every year, he looked forward to the family reunions, where he loved to play horseshoes, volleyball, bingo, and then sneak away for some fishing. He was a cherished Uncle Robert to his numerous nieces and nephews, always ready to give piggy-back rides, and go on the water slides, and roller coasters with them. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was often called on due to his height, strength, and giving nature.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maternal Grandmother, Cecelia Lennens, His Maternal Grandfather, Charles Lennens. His Paternal Grandfather Deacon Manuel A. Gallegos. Robert is survived by his parents Robert and Melody Gallegos; Paternal Grandmother Theresa Gallegos, Frances and their son, Oliver; Sisters Daylynn and Shannon; and innumerable members of his family and his extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will miss him immensely.
