Robert (Bob) Richard DeLaHunt, age 78, husband, brother, father, grandfather, friend, and business leader passed away on Monday, September 4th, 2023.
Bob was a respected business owner in New Mexico with his real estate franchise in Chama, as well as a prominent window and door distributorship in Albuquerque. Bob served his country stateside and in the Vietnam War with the Air Force Strategic Air Command, and the Elite Guard. Bob also was a police officer with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, becoming the youngest Lieutenant in the history of the department. He retired from the department to go into business for himself.
Bob loved serving the local and international community through the Rotary Club, serving as President of the Del Norte club and as the District 5520 Governor. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Diana; daughter, Debbie; son, Bob and his wife, Michelle. He also leaves behind brothers, Tom, Don, and Koby; and sisters, Kathleen and Kyle; as well as eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and an upcoming great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther; father, Robert; brothers, Michael and Jim; and great-grandchild, Hunter.
Per his wishes, no services will be held. His ashes will be scattered in a private ceremony in the Brazos.
