Robert Charles "Chuck" Elder

Chuck Elder died at his home on September 1st, 2013 at the age of 60. He was born in Albuquerque, NM, April 24th, 1953. Chucks favorite role was as a father to his two children, Angela and Daniel, and as a grandfather to Jeremiah and Jasper. He had a huge heart and gave freely of his time and money to anyone in need. Throughout his life he donated to charities that supplied food to children. Of his many hobbies and interests, hiking, and paintball were two of his favorites. He owned and ran a paintball field. Travel was a passion for Chuck and he visited much of the US and Europe, often taking his children to his favorite places. He graduated from Valley High School in Albuquerque in 1972, attended New Mexico State University as well as the University of New Mexico, and received an Associates degree in Electronics. Chuck worked at Sandia Laboratories as a computer engineer for over 33 years and retired in December 2012. Chuck is survived by his daughter, Angela Elder and her husband, Dr. Paul Dobransky of Chicago IL. His son, Robert Daniel Elder and wife, Samantha Elder and their sons, Jeremiah and Jasper; his parents, Robert William Elder and Beulah Elder of Albuquerque; his brother, Thomas Elder and wife, Linda Byrd of Albuquerque and their daughter, Elizabeth Elder of Philadelphia, PA, and his sister, Kris Owens and husband, Ron Owens and their daughter, Emmaly Owens of Albuquerque. The family asks that in lieu of flowers people donate to ChildFund at their donation website ChildFund.org or 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond VA, 23294 or to the charity of your choice that feeds those in need. Memorial Services will be Saturday, September 7, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Chuck was not a formal man so we ask that you come dressed comfortably.
