Robert Cates, 90, of Rio Rancho, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Robert was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He devoted his life to his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Stacy L. Welsh (Brian Welsh) and Patricia A. Smith (Mark Smith); granddaughters, Shay Welsh and Kristin Smith, and his brother, Marv Cates, of California.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Cates, and his brother William Cates, of New Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Robert's name to Paws and Stripes, www.pawsandstripes.org.
Private family services will be held.
