Robert " Andy" Andrews, age 86, originally from Kansas City, KS, and long-time resident of Albuquerque, quietly passed away on July 2, 2015. Andy was a retired tool and die maker having spent his career with TWA and GM. Following retirement, he volunteered as a docent at the Albuquerque Zoo and enjoyed all kinds of animals. Andy will always be remembered for his creativity and artistic talent. His award winning wood carvings were displayed at the New Mexico State Fair. He participated in the Senior Olympics winning a gold medal in marksmanship. Andy is survived by son, Robert L. Andrews, Jr. and wife Kathleen; grandson, Michael K. Andrews; step-children, Walter Sawicki, Jr., Diannae Schmidkunz, Robyn Sherman and husband, Keith Jasper, and John Sherman. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Irene Andrews in 2002 and his second wife, Helen A. Andrews in 2015. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University.
