Major Robert F. Akerley, age 76, beloved father, brother and friend, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Bob was known for love of his kid, world traveling, girl watching, and his wry wit. He loved his country, politics, his USAF career, and always felt life was an adventure! He is survived by his daughter, Cherlyn Akerley; son-in-law, Orville Hahn; and 3 grandhorses. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Dahl and her family. Despite divorce, he was always considered part of the family to his ex-wife, Jodie Akerley and her family. Touching Bob's latter life was a wonderful caregiver, DeAnna Iguado. Interment with full Military Honors will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Wednesday, January 27, 2016.
