Rita J. Lind

Rita J. Lind, age 81, of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021, with her daughters by her side. She was born February 17, 1940, in Springfield, Massachusetts to Homer and Jeannette Miron Lambert.  She married James P. Lind on April 12, 1958.  He preceded her in death along with their daughter, Diane M. Lind.  Rita was also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Roger Lambert.

Rita is survived by her daughters, CJ (Terry Evans) Lind of Farmington, NM, Karen (John) Davis III of London Mills, IL, and Pamela (Vito) Dionisio of Albuquerque, NM.

She has six grandchildren, Carolyn (David) Shea of Bicknell, IN, Virginia (Joel) Powell of LaHarpe, IL, Angelo (Mikayla) Dionisio of Albuquerque, NM, John (Angelina) Davis IV of Summerville, SC, Marcello (Alyssa) Dionisio of Rio Rancho, NM, Gabriella Dionisio of Albuquerque, NM.

She also has five great-grandchildren, David Shea and Christopher Shea of Bicknell, IN, Kannon Dionisio of Rio Rancho, NM, John L. Davis V of Summerville, SC, Deluca Dionisio of Albuquerque, NM.

Rita also is survived by her sister, Carol Chagnon; and brother, Gary (Pat) Lambert.

Rita was an avid walker and loved to read romance novels. She also read the newspaper and did the crossword puzzles every day. Her favorite soap opera was Days of Our Lives and had been watching since the premier in 1965. She never missed sending a card for her family’s birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions. She loved to spend time with her daughters and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was mostly a homemaker raising her daughters as a Navy wife.

Rita was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic parish.

Services will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 at FRENCH -  Lomas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Rosary and Mass will begin at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow at her home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.

The family would like to thank the nurses from Presbyterian Hospice and Dr. Reddy for their compassionate care of Rita.
