"Rip" Harry Boyd Huntington

July 1, 1949 — May 13, 2022

"Rip" Harry Boyd Huntington passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his family and was under the care of Hospice of New Mexico. Rip was a Vietnam Veteran and served honorably in the United States Army. He was born in Chama, NM, where he loved to spend time fly fishing in the Chama River and camping with his family and friends at Heron Lake.

Rip had a gentle spirit and yet was every bit a man's man. He retired as a long-haul truck driver after 25 years. He also retired from Sennheiser, where he made high end audio equipment in 2019 at the age 70. Rip's first love was music from the age of 12 years old. He appreciated and became a collector of all types of music genres throughout his life. He loved to share his love of music with his family and friends. He also loved gardening and always grew a plentiful garden every year. As well as a love of cooking which he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

Rip was preceded in death by his father, Harry Boyd Huntington, Sr., mother, Ramona Huntington; brother, Steve Huntington; and his son, Rip Samuel Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Medina-Huntington; daughters, Dawn Garcia, Julie Medina, and Monica Salazar (Michelle Martinez); grandchildren, Eva Crespin, D. J. Garcia, Santino Garcia, Lexie Martinez, Jude Candelaria, and Sofia Candelaria.

Rip Huntington will be memorialized with full Military Honors on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 3:30 p.m., at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

There will be reception following the service at a place in Santa Fe that will be announced at the service.
