Richard “Dick” V. Stumph died peacefully on October 23, 2018 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 84. Dick was born in Indianapolis, IN where he grew up just minutes from the Speedway track. He was a multi-sport high school athlete and earned the nickname “Golden Toe” for his outstanding kicking abilities in football. He attended General Motors Institute graduating with a degree in automotive engineering and took a job with the Central Foundry Division. Dick’s exceptional work ethic and integrity helped him advance through the ranks at General Motors (GM) and he retired in 1992 as Director of Engineering at GM Powertrain. He married the love of his life Janice Clouse on August 4, 1957, celebrating 61 years of marriage. After retirement, he enjoyed an active life playing USTA team tennis and golf, traveling and spending time with family and close friends.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Marsha (James) Braun of Saginaw, MI and Trent (Louise) Stumph of Ketchum, ID; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Adam) Cramton and Charles, Fletcher and Russell Stumph.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., St. Chad’s Episcopal Church, 7171 Tennyson St. NE, Albuquerque, NM. Rev. Mother Jan Hosea will officiate.

Memorial donations in memory of Dick can be made to St. Chad's or the Alzheimer's Association New Mexico Chapter.
