Richard Maurer

MSGSGT Richard Maurer (USMC) Ret., Age 95, a resident of Albuquerque since 1998, died Thursday, June 23, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Janis Maurer; children, Paul Maurer of MI, Brian Maurer and wife, Mary Jo of Albuquerque, and Gayle L. Riggs and husband, Jim of Albuquerque; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Mr. Maurer was preceded in death by his son, Warren Maurer. He was born in 1921 in Seattle, WA to William and Bertha Maurer and entered the United States Marines during WWII, retiring in 1976. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and per Richard's request, there will be a private family memorial.
