Richard Douglas Mathes

Richard (Rick) Douglas Mathes, 41, has gone to his final resting place with God. He went unexpectedly, but peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. Rick was a happy, energetic child and his beautiful smile filled our hearts with love. He loved his children dearly.

Rick was a generous man, giving all he had to anyone who asked. He lost his way as many of us have and now the Lord has taken him in his arms to show him the way.

He is survived by his son, Richard Baca; daughter, Destiny Encinias and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Michael Jr, and Liliana; mother, Irene; grandmother, Tressie Mathes; two brothers, Ronn Jensen and Randy Manus; Uncle Skeeter; and cousins, Chazz and Zack; and numerous second cousins, great aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 4, 2022, 4:00 p.m., at FRENCH-University, followed by a reception.
