Richard J. "Dick" Johnson passed away peacefully at home March 9, 2015 surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Daisy; sons, Richard, Jeffrey, and Kevin and their families; step-son, Charles Weaver; daughter-in-law, LouAnne Weaver; and granddaughters, Mary and Lisa. Dick was born December 10, 1928 in New Jersey. He served in the United States Air Force as a paramedic during the Korean War and moved to New Mexico in 1957 to join Sandia National Laboratories, where he had a long career as a mechanical engineer. In retirement, Dick enjoyed membership at Christ the King Anglican Church, traveling, reading, the UNM Lobos, and spending time with his family, friends and dogs. Dick led a long and full life and will be missed by all. Services will be Thursday, March 19, 2015, 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Animal Humane of New Mexico, 615 Virginia St. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
