Richard M Hadad, 87, passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in the Albuquerque VA Hospice center surrounded by loved ones.  Richard was born in Trinidad, Colorado on November 25, 1933 to Mike and Sara Hadad.  He attended Primero High School and graduated in 1951.  Growing up in Segundo, Colorado, he worked in the family business, Hadad’s Super Trading Post, driving a truck, delivering groceries. Richard served in the US Army during the mid-50s and was stationed in Germany.  He married the love of his life, Theresa Blasi, on July 4, 1959. Their union was blessed by two children, Sharon and Ron.  Richard, along with his wife and children, operated a home food delivery service for over 30 years and served as the President of the American Association of Meat Processors.   He served on the board of the Better Business Bureau of New Mexico for over 40 years.  Richard’s legendary culinary arts skills produced many memorable meals and thousands of holiday cookies each year.  Inspired by his mother, Richard loved to bring people together around good food.  Known for his vast interests and hobbies, Richard was a skilled painter, gardener, and musician. An orchid enthusiast and wine maker, the beauty he produced was a testament to his dedication to his craft. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Theresa, and parents, Mike and Sara, brothers Najib, Buddy and Billy, and sister Lucille, sisters-in-law Georgette Hadad, Bernice Hadad, and nephew John David Hadad and the deceased members of the Blasi family.

He is survived by his daughter Sharon (Tori), son Ron, brothers Leo Hadad, Phoenix, AZ, David (Mary Ellen) Hadad, Trinidad, CO, Victor (Louise) Hadad, Castle Rock, CO, first cousin and brother-in-law Joe Hadad, Trinidad, CO, brother-in-law Mike Blasi, Pueblo, CO, sisters-in-law Betty Blasi, Trinidad, CO, Betty Jo (Chuck) Gyurman, Hoehne, CO, and many nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces.
