Richard George Gido

May 18, 1934 — September 8, 2018

Richard “Dick” Gido, age 84, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Richard was a caring and generous man that everyone enjoyed being around and made all of our lives better.

He is survived by his wife, Winnie; his children, Neil and Keith; his daughter-in-law, Sarah; his two grandchildren, Carson and Sam; his sister, Elizabeth; and sister-in-law, Genny. He leaves many appreciated relatives and friends.

Dick was raised by John and Anna Gido in Cleveland, OH, where he graduated high school and earned a BS and MS in Engineering from Case Western Reserve. He married Winnie in 1961, and shortly afterwards moved to New Mexico to take a job with the Los Alamos National Laboratory. While in Los Alamos they met many life-long friends and raised their sons. They moved to Albuquerque in 1990 when he was offered a job at Sandia National Laboratories. He retired in 2000.  If friends want to share any memories of Dick, the family would appreciate that very much.
