Richard Dwyer

Richard Dwyer, age 81, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eileen Dwyer; and six children, Peter Dwyer and wife, Lauren of Texas, Stephen Dwyer, Anne Dwyer, Mary Elizabeth Dwyer, Catherine Dwyer, and Father Andrew Dwyer; and three grandchildren, Monica, Erin, and Thomas Dwyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Dwyer; and sister, Mary Dwyer.

Richard was a retired teacher, having taught middle school for 29 years, and he enjoyed his second career in furniture sales. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and especially staying involved with his church. A special thank you to his pastor, Father Albert Gonzales, all the priests and religious of the Society of Saint Pius X, and the Benedictines of Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to many family and friends for their prayers and support during Richard's illness, to Dr. Kubica and the care team at New Mexico Cancer Center, Dr. Gutow, and Dr. Zamanian. A special thank you to the amazing staff at Bosque Trails Hospice.

A Rosary for Richard will be recited Monday, December 11, 2023, 7:00 p.m., FRENCH - University. Mass of Catholic Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, 10:00 a.m., at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 5800 Ouray Road NW. Pallbearers will be Peter Dwyer, Stephen Dwyer, Michael Yoder, Ken Williams, Dominic Gonzales, and Patrick Doherty. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Society of Saint Pius X, https://sspx.gifts/.
