Richard "Dick" Brady

Richard "Dick" Brady, courageously battled lung cancer and is safe in God's arms. He was born November 11, 1934 in Wray, CO to Myrtia and Paul Brady, the youngest of six. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1952 and attended Regis College until 1954, and served in the US Navy until 1957. He was stationed on the USS Bonnie Dick and played baseball for the Navy in Yokosuka, Japan as a pitcher. He completed college at Colorado State University as a star baseball player until 1960. He then worked at Allstate Insurance Company, moving his family to Albuquerque in 1972. He retired in 1996. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and sons, Jeffrey Brady in 1989 and infant son Bradford in 1963. He is survived by his wife of 53 years (they met at Allstate), Mildred "Millie" Brady; daughter Tamara Brady and her husband, Mark Rapp, and granddaughter Sydney Rapp of Greeley, CO; daughter Shannon and husband, Mark Kmatz and grandchildren Kellison, Jeffrey and Zackary Kmatz; granddaughter Amanda and husband, Joseph Wright, II, and great-grandson Joseph "Joey" Wright III; his faithful cat, Tigger all of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014, 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
