Reyes Martinez

Age 86, a long time resident of Edgewood, NM passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 6, 1930 in Juan Tomas, NM to the late Abenicio and Ana Maria Jaramillo. Reyes was united in marriage to the late Anselmo Martinez on November 25, 1946 in El Cedro, NM and was married to her loving husband for 64 years. She was a lifelong Catholic and a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Edgewood, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anselmo Martinez; daughters, "Baby" Rita Martinez and Julia Martinez-Cox; son, Ben Martinez Sr. and great grandson, Brayden Chavez. The beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother is survived by her son, Albert Martinez and daughter, Annabell Lopez. Additionally, she is survived by her four grandchildren, whom she raised as her very own, Ben Martinez Jr, Shawn Cox, Joelle Cox-Six and Anselmo Cox. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her dearly. Friends may visit one hour prior to the Rosary to be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016, 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 22, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Edgewood, NM. Interment will be at the Mountain Valley Cemetery followed by a reception at Edgewood Elementary Multi-purpose Room, 285 Dinkle Road, Edgewood, NM 87015. Serving as Pallbearers will be, Albert Martinez Sr., Ben Martinez Jr., Albert Martinez Jr., Michael Lopez, Anselmo Cox, Justin Martinez, Benjamin Martinez, and Brandon Lopez. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Jordan Martinez, Elmo Six and Oscar Six.
